Employment problems continue to strike Zimbabweans.
Companies continue to retrench workers, the industry is really flooding; what
is the problem? Is this crisis beyond solution or really there is no problem
beyond solution? I pray you choose the later. The Zimbabwean citizens have
since been given the notion that the country is in this economic situation
because of sanctions. How far true is that? What about corruption, poor governance
and poor management strategies among
other factors? However, will the country
continue in this state, of turmoil, as long as sanctions exist? Or rather with
or without sanctions things will change? Certainly, time will tell, as of now
the answers I don’t have.
Vice President, Joyce Mjuru, push for release of funds for
the revival of industry as this will help in employment creation. VP, reported
in Byo24 said the local manufacturing industry was hit hard by sanctions
induced economic challenges and time is now ripe for the ministry of finance to
come up with more initiatives that will aid in the recapitalization of local
industry.
“Government should put in place concrete measures to ensure
that our local industry is given funds for recapitalization,” Vice President,
told Byo24.

i think the industry must be revived lest we will go back to the 2008 situation. This reason behind the deteriorating industry is not important at this stage , people should work together in trying to revive the economy and providing employment
ReplyDeleteHehe sanctions this sanctions that as if there are no faults by the so called ministers in draging the economy down. In as much as i agree with the sanctions issue, i strongly believe that they are being used as a propaganda strategy by Zanu pf. This is caz we are using a foregn currency and we read it in the papers that sactions were withdrawn. Only travelling sanctions targeting Mugabe were not withdawn. So tell me how does that weakens our economy. Hayi Hayi thee guys have to admit their faults for example when 2012 was about to end we heard that Obert Mpofu was looting diamonds. After that they start talking about sanctions!!! wat a pity? And now Mujuru is talking about funds as if she is not aware of their nepotism dealings. As long as there is corruption Zim will never revive its industry
ReplyDeletethe problem of unemployment is not due to sanctions as others would suggest. but it is due to poor economic policies of ZANU-PF under the leadership of Mugabe. Policies like land reform programme among others really scared away potential investors. the policy is good but it was poorly implemented.
